9-Year-Old Girl Commits Suicide: Bullying Has To Stop!

US B-6

A black 9-year-old girl in Alabama allegedly took her own life after facing relentless bullying and racism in class, according to reports.

McKenzie Adams’ relatives said she hanged herself Dec. 3 in her home in Linden, about 100 miles west of Montgomery, and was discovered by her grandmother, according to the Tuscaloosa News.

Since the start of the school year, the fourth-grader had been the target of bullying at US Jones Elementary School, where she was teased over her friendship with a white male classmate, according to her family.

Her aunt, Eddwina Harris, said the group of students taunted McKenzie by telling her to commit suicide.

“She was being bullied the entire school year, with words such as ‘kill yourself,’ ‘you think you’re white because you ride with that white boy,’ ‘you ugly,’ ‘black bitch,’ ‘just die,’” Harris told the newspaper.

Harris said she’s speaking out about her niece’s death because she wants to promote anti-bullying.

“There are so many voiceless kids,” Harris said. “God is opening great doors for justice for my niece.”

Bullying Has To Stop! Maishayn Wilson Tells Us Why

US B-3

Even as a millennial, I too was bullied especially while in elementary, junior high and a small part of my high school careers. There were times I dreaded going to school. Children (people in general) can be mean or jealous. I remember trying to be so kind/nice to my bullies. Sometimes it worked. Others times it didn’t. I kept being myself. My parents prayed a lot for me. As well as I. I eventually became popular. I found my voice in gaining the courage to speak up for myself & others that were being bullied, but sometimes it wasn’t easy. A lot of the times those bullies are dealing/battling with their own demons and bring those types of behavioral attitudes to school, etc.

Often times (back then while in school), I would inform the teachers, coaches, and principal as to what was going on and they looked out for me (including some of my friends, they looked out for me too. 🥰). Let us continue to pray for the bully as we pray for those who are getting bullied aswell. Social media has made bullying so much worse, but I believe if we continue to take a stand and get more involved by speaking up on platforms such as this and within our own communities we can bring more awareness to this epidemic and save more lives one day at a time. With Jesus on our side, we are more than conquers! 🙏🏾 Amen!

Six-Year-Old Boy Designs T-Shirt To Battle Bullying

US B-6

One young boy in Georgia plans to make a special fashion statement for the first day of a new school year, rocking a bright orange T-shirt with the text “I will be your friend” to battle school bullying.

As Nikki Rajahn of Fayetteville prepared her son Blake for a new year at North Fayette Elementary, she asked her 6-year-old what kind of shirt he’d like to wear for the all-important first day, WCNC reports.

The mom of four runs her own custom clothing business and expected her youngster to select a sporty motif inspired by his interests in basketball and football, she wrote on Facebook.

Instead, Blake surprised her with a heartwarming request.

“He thought a while and said, ‘Will you please make me a shirt that says “I will be your friend” for all the kids who need a friend to know that I am here for them?’” the proud mom dished.

“Never underestimate your kid’s heart for others! I love my sweet Blake!” Rajahn continued.

In the days since, the crafty mom’s Facebook post, featuring a beaming Blake in his neon T-shirt with green writing, has gone viral with 6,300 likes, 3,300 shares and hundreds of comments.

“What a blessing and what a difference he will make,” one user said.

“If only adults could try this,” another agreed.

According to Yahoo Lifestyle, the youngster has previously experienced bullying in school and wants his peers to know that they can count on him as a pal.

Seven Bridges, a 5th-grader who had to wear a colostomy bag due to a birth defect was found dead by his mother hanging in his closet.

“My son took his life due to bullying, it has been probably ongoing for about seven months, horribly,” the mother, Tami Charles, told reporters. “He would have little things as he went through school, but nothing as bad as this year.”

May his soul continue to rest in peace.

Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, according to studies by Yale University. According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying.

As we approach a new school year it is important for us to talk with our kids about the importance of prayer and wisdom. Today, much like times before the enemy is attacking our children. He’s working through the internet, through their peers and so many of our babies are resorting to suicide because they see no way out.  Prayer is still a remedy for all things and wisdom is needed in all things. It’s time for us to be more proactive and yes get all up in our children’s business; because even though they think they can handle it – they can’t.

I AM QUEEN Magazine’s ‘It Has To Stop- Bullying Campaign’ is dedicated to bringing awareness to the issue of bullying through social media. As parents, we have a responsibility to do what we can to ensure that our children are protected and educated on how to handle this problem. We have teamed up with women from the United States, London, South Africa, and The Bahamas and are dedicated to praying and covering our school districts under the blood of Jesus while giving students and teachers practical tips on how to handle a bully.

Please join us as we pray earnestly for our children this semester. Share your stories with us using the hashtag #ItHasToStopBullying. Let’s be proactive with our prayers. Click the link and download Prayers For Our Babies. Print it out and pray this prayer along with your kids every morning and every night. The blood of Jesus still has power and it is our most effective weapon against the enemy. Our children are under attack; it’s time for us to fight where it counts!
