How Your Housecleaning Products Can Be Bad for Your Health

Apart from God and family, your health is the most important thing in the world. You can’t enjoy anything without good health.

My favorite cleaning products are Lysol and Clorox. I have been using them for years and they get the job done. However, every time I use them I get headaches and shortness of breath.

This has been going on for years but I continued to use these products because they give me the best result even though I knew something wasn’t right. I don’t know if its because I’m getting older or have a bigger family now but I am becoming more conscious of the products I’m using in my home and around my children.

According to new research published in the American Thoracic Society’s American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, women showed greater declines in lung function if they’ve worked as cleaners or use certain cleaning products over time. Women who didn’t clean didn’t experience the same rate of lung disease, the researchers said.

Scientists at the University of Bergen in Norway analyzed data from 6,235 participants in the European Community Respiratory Health Survey. The participants, whose average age was 34 when they enrolled, were followed for more than 20 years.

The take-home message of this study is that in the long run, cleaning chemicals cause substantial damage to your lungs. Cleaning your house once per week with household cleaning products can damage your lungs as much as smoking one pack of cigarettes a day.

After reading this study, I am now more eager to find natural products to clean my home.

Miami Carnival meets Caribbean305!  Wicked!  What a combination!  What a fun time!  Food galore!

Caribbean305 is an annual event that highlights the art of Caribbean cooking while bringing together top chefs and bartenders from the islands.  It is presented by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA), and this year partnered with the Miami Carnival.

Held at Jungle Island, Caribbean305 general admission tickets were $95 which included access from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m with an all-inclusive experience of unlimited drinks, food, and entertainment.  The VIP experience was the way to go; tickets were $125, which allowed early access to the event at 7 p.m. with a VIP lounge area with an exclusive bar.

Caribbean305 featured fifteen Caribbean destinations; Anguilla, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Curaçao, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos, and U.S. Virgin Islands.

Miami foodies were in heaven with the mouthwatering, flavorsome, appealing, scrumptious, eats and tasteful, zesty drinks from Hall of Fame mixologists of the Caribbean.  With an added bonus, each tourism board provided giveaways to the attendees.

Attendees also experienced a vigorous blend of entertainment from a steel pan group, masqueraders, mocko jumbies, a reggae band, and DJ Storm.   The crowd was hyped!  There was no space in front of the stage when DJ Storm began to play, and no one left Jungle Island with a dry shirt.  It was dancing nonstop!

What a way to enjoy five-star restaurant food and entertainment. Can’t wait to see what Caribbean305 2019 has to offer, it appears to be getting better every year.

MisUnderstood- Aren’t We All ?!

We are all misunderstood by someone. Conflict is caused by misunderstandings between people and often times the misunderstood are mishandled and sometimes mislead. But although we misunderstand people we do the most injustice to God because we misunderstand him every day. Even those who’ve studied theology have yet to grasp who God really is. God is the most misunderstood of them all.

Misunderstood is a series designed to give you a look into the mind of a Christian Millennial who’s a wife, mother, and entrepreneur.

Your Prayer Closet Is NOT the Secret Place!

The secret place isn’t a place, it’s a realm. Your closet is the place you meet God but it’s not to be mistaken for the secret place. Everyone can hear you praying in your “secret place”. Everyone knows its location so that means that the secret place isn’t a physical space but a spiritual one. The secret place is the holy of holies. The place where God dwells and the enemy can’t find you there.

How do you know if you have entered into the secret place?

1. Your body responds to his presence. You would bow, tremble, cry or feel a strong presence in the room that you can not explain.

2. Your praying stops and instead you listen.

3. This is the place instructions are given. (Tip: It would be a good idea to keep writing utensils near during your prayer time.)

Trade secrets are given in secure environments and so are the secrets of God. In order to receive them, you must allow your spirit to ascend to the Holy of Holies and this happens not based on the amount of time you spend in prayer but on the position of your heart and what you say while praying. Effective prayer is praying God’s word/will back to him or praying in your heavenly language.

The enemy is unable to locate you in the Holy of Holies but he wants to know your secrets regardless. The devil will use the spirit of seduction like he did with Sampson to lure you into a false sense security to make you comfortable enough to release your secrets. Sarah Jakes said that we need to pray before we post and most times we have prayed that’s why we posted. But, we forget to ask God if it was okay to release the word when it was given. The enemy tricks us with this causing us to believe that we must release the word when in many cases we prematurely share trade secrets which sabotage our blessings.

The secret place is not a place but a realm that effective prayer elevates you. Prayer establishes heaven on earth and effective prayer requires a strategy.
