Faith gives us an invisible way out of the hardships of life. Don’t get me wrong, there will always be trials. Faith allows us to rely on someone who can lead us through what we cannot see.
Faith is substance. It’s the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Without it– it’s impossible to please God. While you navigate through this new month of release and possibilities remember that faith in Him gives you the hope you need for tomorrow.
Here are three things you can do to maintain your faith during seasons of disappointment:
1 Evaluate your expectations. Sometimes our expectations of ourselves and others are unrealistic. The bible tells us that the arms of flesh WILL fail you. This means people will fail you and you are also likely to fail yourself. While God works through people we must be sure that we are trusting in Him to do what we need to be done. Give yourself and your loved ones some grace. We all fall short of God’s glory and that’s why his mercies renew every day. Mercy is reserved for our shortcomings; so reserve some mercy for others.
2 Worship. It’s hard to think of your troubles when you are worshipping God in spirit and in truth. Worship cultivates gratitude. Worship reminds you of the love of God and all that he has done for you. As you worship God, he gives you the refreshing your spirit needs for that time. Worship opens your spirit to receive the word you need to navigate through the disappointment. God cannot be manipulated by your complaints. He only moves by your faith. So worshipping God creates a way of escape when it seems like you have none.
3 Rest. We must learn how to rest. There are some things that you cannot fix no matter how much money you may have or how influential you may be. There are some things that only GOD can change so we must learn how to rest in the finished work of Christ. Rest in the fact that Jesus took sickness and disease to the grave. Rest in knowing that he became poor so that you may become rich. Rest in his word. His word is life. Rest in his love, he died for you. Rest in his power, because he has never lost a battle.
You have walked through a hard season but you have arrived at your harvest season. If faith seems like too much to understand, remember that life won’t be one way forever. If you are on the bottom today, tomorrow you will be on top!
