The holidays really are the best of times and the worst of times.
With the season upon us, so is the stress of shopping for the perfect gift, finding the hot outfit for the office party, and entertaining family and friends.
Unfortunately, the demands over the holiday season, not only stresses your mind and body, but your hair too. To help your hair survive during the holiday season, and to minimize hair damage, here are a few quick tips:
Limit the use of heat and chemicals:
As you race from the office to an event, you may use damaging products such as a flat iron, blow dryer and curling iron more frequently, as well styling gels, foams, and sprays to freshen up your hair. However, consistent use can damage the natural body and shine of your hair.
Keep hair moisturized:
To keep my clients tresses looking silky and healthy, I make sure it is conditioned and moisturized. I recommend that you condition your hair at night, especially if you have naturally curly hair. It’s important to use quality hair products from shampoos and conditioners to styling products. They will cost a bit more, but will be much gentler on your hair.
Pin curls:
Try wrapping your hair or pin curling it at night for a few night so when you wake up you don’t have to put any extra heat on your hair.
Dior’s must haves:
My favorite products to use on my clients hair so that the style can last is “The All-Nighter” by Boudoir Hair. It works to smooth, defrizz, and condition scalp for all day great hair. It’s the best when curling your hair so that it last all night.
Another must have is Thank God I’m Natural “TGIN” edge control. This product helps with moisture and keeping your edges intact.
These two products are always in my kit when creating signature looks for my celebrity clients. Now that you know how to protect your hair during the holidays, make a wish and enjoy your holiday hair.
