Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, according to studies by Yale University. According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying.
As we approach a new school year it is important for us to talk with our kids about the importance of prayer and wisdom. Today, much like times before the enemy is attacking our children. He’s working through the internet, through their peers and so many of our babies are resorting to suicide because they see no way out. Prayer is still a remedy for all things and wisdom is needed in all things. It’s time for us to be more proactive and yes get all up in our children’s business; because even though they think they can handle it – they can’t.
I AM QUEEN Magazine’s ‘It Has To Stop- Bullying Campaign’ is dedicated to bringing awareness to the issue of bullying through social media. As parents, we have a responsibility to do what we can to ensure that our children are protected and educated on how to handle this problem. We have teamed up with women from the United States, London, South Africa, and The Bahamas and are dedicated to praying and covering our school districts under the blood of Jesus while giving students and teachers practical tips on how to handle a bully.
Please join us as we pray earnestly for our children this semester. Share your stories with us using the hashtag #ItHasToStopBullying. Let’s be proactive with our prayers.
