BET Awards 2019: Top 5 Memorable Moments – Lil Nas X, Tyler Perry, Regina Hall, Fantasia & More

The 2019 BET Awards was nothing short of amazing; with incredible performances and acceptance speeches that will be the mantra for many of our lives. The awards show was hosted by the beautiful Regina Hall, who did an exceptional job. There were so many memorable moments but here are our top five moments.

We’ve seen Fantasia perform live and every time she graces the stage we get a dynamic performance. Her performance at the BET Awards 2019 took us back to the days when R&B ruled the world. #rnbisnotdead

Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus continue to top charts with ‘Old Town Road’. This duo killed their performance at the BET Awards and yes we were all here for it. Lil Nas X story will continue to be one of the best success stories of 2019. From having only $5 in his bank account to topping charts and soaring pass veteran artists, it reminds us all that our dreams are truly within reach. We pray that his success isn’t limited to this moment but continues to expand as he continues to grow as an artist.

Ella Mai, a little girl from London England as she referred to herself, as she accepted the Viewers Choice Award for Trip. She has taken us back to a time when music was all about- the music. A time where R&B thrived and love made sense. We are excited for her and can’t wait to see what she produces next.

Marsai Martin won the YoungStars Award. Her story is a reminder to us that age ain’t nothing but a number. You have the ability to change the world no matter your age, gender, race or social standing. With God, determination, and persistence you can accomplish anything.

Taraji P Henson presented the Ultimate Icon Award to Tyler Perry and shared with the world how Tyler Perry was the first to pay her, her worth-WOW! Tyler then delivered one of the best acceptance speeches to date. He reminded us that closed doors should direct us to create our own. Our gifts and talents are for others. We are someone’s miracle and if we don’t pursue our dreams there are many people who won’t be able to fulfill there own.

This year’s BET Awards was truly a night for the dreamers. Every one of our favorite moments demonstrate the power of following your dreams. For Fantasia, it began at American Idol. Lil Nas X with only $5 in his account, he was able to hustle the money he needed to purchase the beat for Old Town Road. Ella Mai, a little girl from England whose dreams landed her on the stage of BET. Taraji P. Henson, a single mother who moved to California to pursue her dreams. And Tyler Perry a struggling playwriter who is now one of the most inspirational voices of our time. Your dreams are within reach!
