The Bible must be taught in a way that is practical for everyday living. Many people don’t understand how to make King James relevant to their lives today. The Message bible does a great job at breaking the Bible down in a language that we all can understand. But it still speaks to us through the lens of people who lived over 2000 years ago. The Bible declares, “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…” – Revelation 12:11. Simply put, we have the ability to overcome anything by the blood of Jesus and by the testimony of those who have walked through difficulty in victory. This is why it is so important that you share your testimony because there are people whose life depends on it.
In this first part of, The Power of The Blood Of Jesus through Millenial Eyes, we will focus on the importance of pleading the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus is a technological system that invokes real protection and provision for our lives. It’s a proactive measure used to create a spiritual barrier around the things and people it was directed to.
Technology is defined as the practical application of knowledge, especially in a particular area. To plead the blood of Jesus is to request God’s protection concerning the people or things you are praying for. When you make a request for blood protection the Angels, who only move according to the word of God, become your defense. The enemy can not penetrate a force field built by the blood of Jesus. In Exodus 12 we see God telling the children of Isreal to put the blood of a lamb on the doorpost of their homes so that the angel of death would Passover them. The blood protected them while those who didn’t have the blood on their doorpost suffered the death of their firstborn. The blood of the lamb was a shadow of the true and living lamb, Jesus who would shed his blood for humanity on Calvary. Pleading the blood of Jesus is a proactive measure which initiates protection before something happens. Police officers don’t wait to be assigned to train, they train before they are sent on assignment. In this way, they are equipped to handle the task.
Everything that we do outside of God is a preventative measure. Prevention is putting measures in place because of something that happened. The reason you put an alarm or surveillance system in your home is that you are aware that homes are burglarized. So you put up enough systems that would deter or be able to give you sufficient information to catch the person responsible if it happens to you.
An Amber Alert is an emergency response system that disseminates information about a missing person (child). America’s Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response, but was named after Amber Hagerman, a 9-year-old abducted and murdered in Arlington, Texas, in 1996. The Amber Alert is a preventative method used to increase the percentage of recovering abducted children. As of April 2019, a total of 957 children have been successfully recovered by this system. As powerful as this system is pleading the blood of Jesus would be a proactive measure. Sometimes we over-spiritualize things but its really simple to plead the blood of Jesus:
“ In the name of Jesus, I plead the blood of Jesus over my children (call them by name).”
The blood of Jesus can be used over your family, home, health, over everything that concerns you. When you do this it disarms the enemy and stops him from working against you and your family.
I can remember when I had my first child. I was very protective of her and one of the reasons was because I was molested as a child so I knew that even those you trust can be tricked by the enemy. I will never forget it; one day the Holy Spirit stopped me in my tracks and said that I could not protect her as he can. He said no matter what measures I put in place it would never be enough to protect her from the enemy. He said unlike me, he is omnipresent. I am still protective of my children but I have committed their ultimate protection to God, I plead the blood of Jesus over them and I trust him at his word.
God didn’t give us the spirit of fear, so he definitely doesn’t want us living in it. He has given us the tools we need to overcome the enemy. Plead the blood of Jesus over you and your family.
